     James Thomas Boyette On 16 Jun 1906, James Thomas 'J. T.' Boyette was born on the familyfarm which was located about 2 miles from Enterprise on the Opp Road.Abt 1919, when J. T. was about 12, the family moved to a farm out fromBaker, FL where he graduated from high school.
For the next couple of years, J. T. worked in a drug store in Milton,FL and later at a drug store in Chipley, FL. About 1928, he moved toSlocomb, AL and worked in Ted Dalton's drug store.
J. T. met Vesta Casey when she was home from Montevallo. They marriedon 24 Jul 1929 and Vesta dropped out of Montevallo at that time. J.T. obtained the marriage license in Dale Co AL.
About 1930, they moved to Ariton, AL where he worked in a drug storeowned by a Mr. Plumgren. When Mr. Plumgren died, J T bought the drugstore. Later J T and Vesta moved back to Slocomb where he againworked in Ted Dalton's drug store.

About 1933, he opened Boyette's Seed and Feed Store in Slocomb. In1941 J T started work with the U S government at Camp Rucker ALworking with the Auditor General's office. When Camp Rucker closed, JT was transferred to Eglin AFB at Ft Walton FL and later to KeeslerAFB in Biloxi MS.
About 1950 J T and Vesta moved to Panama City FL where J T worked atTyndall AFB. On 19 Dec 1958, J T retired from Civil Service andbought out Millville Hardware in Panama City. In 1959, nephewFrederick Casey joined J T in the hardware and the name was laterchanged to Boyette Casey hardware.
