He was died single. He. Jesse James Cox enlisted in the Civil War at Clayton AL on 27 Mar1862. Along with brother Henry Edmond, he went to went to Clayton, ALthe same week that fir-cousins Colonel Jasper and Martin wereenlisting. The Cox brothers made their mark on elistment papers ofCompany C, 45th AL Infantry Regiment. He lost his life in the war.His gravesite is unknown.
