Henry Edmond Cox¹ son of William Cox and Millie Dowling was born on Sep 6, 1836 in Claybank, Dale Co, AL.¹

He was died single. He. Henry Edmund Cox along with brother Jesse James went to Clayton, AL,the same week that first-cousins Colonel Jasper Dowling and MartinDowling were enlisting. The Cox brothers made their mark onenlistment papers of Company C, 45th AL Infantry Regiment. Heenlisted in the Civil War at Clayton AL on 27 Mar 1862. He died inthe war. His gravesite is unknown.
