John S. Barbree: Enlisted as a private in Co. K, 1st Regiment, 1stBrigade, Ga. State Troops October 8, 1861. Mustered out April 8,1862.Enlisted as a private in Co. I, 3lst Regiment Ga. Inf. May 4, 1862.

Union prisoner of war records show he was captured at Gettysburg, Pa.July 5, 1863, and died at Fort Delaware, Del. September 19, 1863.Other records show he was living at Brinson, Ga. after war closed.

In 1860, a John S. Barbarie was listed in the mortality schedule forAlbany, Doughtery Co GA p211. [102] Not sure which John S. Barbariethis is. There are several choices.

John S. Barbree was listed in the household of Stancil Barbree in the census in 1850 in District 12, Baker Co, Georgia. John S 3 GA.3
