But if my Son William Should not arrive to the said Age, then it is my Desire that my Well beloved Brother Noah Maund Should have the said negro Dav_(torn)_...; ...unto my well beloved Son William all my part that now belongs to me and the part thereafter coming to me of a water mill...after the decease of his Mother...2,3


William married Mary Howell daughter of Joseph Howell and Margaret 'Mary' Starling c. 1739.


On May 13, 1741 in Norfolk Co, VA. William Maund Sr left his grandson William (son of William Jr) the plantation where he lives when he comes of age.2

In Mar, 1761, the will of William Maund was presented to the Court but the attorney for the widow Mary Maund, questioned the validity of the will and requested that the matter lie open until the next session.

In Jun, 1761, the Will was not probated because of a caveat offered by James Cary, attorney, on behalf of the widow.6,7
