There is evidence his first wife was named Dorcas. It is presumed she was Dorcas Nobles. The date of their marriage is not known, but she apparently died in the early 1770s. Godfrey married 2, Sarah Williams, daughter of Capt William and Mary (Blount) Williams. Sarah Williams was also a sister of Major Willoughby Williams, 10th Regt, NC Continental Line. Godfrey and Sarah Williams were probably married inthe mid-1770s. They settled in Pitt Co NC.
