Francis lived in Dale Co, AL in 1860.1 Marion lost his life during the War Between the States. He was a procurer of food for the Confederate Army, a 'forager', and ran many risks. He lost his trained horse and the new, untrained horse he was riding on one of his missions became frightened when the enemy approached and ran in the wrong direction. Marion was killed by the enemy. [241].
Francis died c. 1864 at 32 years of age. He was buried in Barbour Co, AL.5
