The surname for William's wife Susan and their marriage date and location are unknown. Williams's father Matthew Averett was living in Monroe Co AL until the mid or late 1820s. Current available marriage records start for 1835. A courthouse fire destroyed most Lee Co records in 1858. Based on Susan's age, 15-20, in 1830 and the fact they had 2 children It suggests that they were married soon after 1825. They could have been married in Monroe Co AL, Lee Co GA, or Randolph Co GA. We will probably never know. Maybe dna segment analysis will help to determine Susan's surname.
