Elizabeth Stansell was probably the elder daughter of John and Sarah(Smithwick) Stansell. She was probably born in Bertie Co NC before her parents moved to Tyrrell Co.

They first settled on the west side of Toisnot Swamp in present dayWilson Co, NC , but shortly thereafter moved to a plantation inwestern Tyrrell (now Martin) County on Coneto Creek. Her husband died in 1770 between April and November. [102].

Elizabeth died aft 1783 in Martin Co, NC.2
