C. 1726 in Tyrrell Co, NC Sarah. at the encouragement of her brother Edmund, John and Sarah movedacross the Roanoke River and settled on Smithwick Creek. Type: MOVED.³ Sarah. About 1720 she married John Stansell, son of John Stansell andKatherine Hardy and they settled on the land she had inherited fromher father, Edward Smithwick.

In 1726, at the encouragement of her brother, Edmund Smithwick, theymoved across Roanoke River and settled on Smithwick Creek in Tyrrell(later Martin) County. John Stansell died in 1750 but Sarah(Smithwick) Stansell was still living in 1776. The death of her deathis unknown.
