Gilman Walker Gray. Gilman and wife Henrietta Oates helped build the first church for theBaptists in Lufkin, TX, after arriving there in 1892. Gilman waslater the county surveyor of Newton Co, TX, as his grandfather,William Cox had been for Newton in Dale Co AL.
