John Hinds, was born estimated 1704. based on buying land in 1727.²
In 1682, Colleton Co SC was one of the three original propriety counties established in SC. The other two were Berkely and Craven.
In 1706 Anglican parishes were established and were the main divisions of South Carolina until 1769.
On 14 January 1727 in Colleton Co, SCG, Alexander Trench, of Savannah, as attorney for John Bayly, of Ballinaclough, County of Tipperary, Ireland sold John Hinds (Hindes), cooper of Colleton Co, 100 ac. bounding on the S&W on Col Arthur Hall, N&E Thomas Farr Sr and Jr. This was part of 48,000 ac granted to Bayly's father John Bayly by Rt Hon John, Earl of Bath, on Aug 16 1698. ¶In 1731 in St Paul's Par, Colleton Co, SC he (Hindes) was on the Petit Jury.³
In 1737 in St Paul's Par, Colleton Co, SCG, John Hinds in St Paul's Par, Colleton Co, SCG, was on the. Petit Jury. A Michael Hinds served on the Petit Jury in 1757.³
On 26 May 1741 in Colleton Co, SCG, sold. 335 ac for 1000 lb acres ., John Hinds .⁴
On 11 June 1766 in St Paul's Par, Colleton Co, SCG, sold 174 ac for 650 lb in St Paul's Par, Colleton Co, SCG, ., John Hinds.
Charleston District SC was established in 1769 as one of the seven original Judicial Districts of SC. Prior to 1769, the area was St Pauls Parish.
