On 9 Apr 1792 Joseph Ballard Sr gave his son, Lott Ballard, theplantation where he lives, excepting to myself and wife for our lifetime at Chapel Run, containing 100 acres, also 88 acres joining whichwas granted to Joseph Sr at Richard Triglett's line.

On 8 Jan 1800, a deed mentions Joseph Ballard's corner on Mill Creek.On 4 Jul 1801, Joseph Ballard and Lawrence James paid George White 237pounds for a negro man. A 5 Feb 1802 deed mentions Joseph Ballard'scorner near Zepheniah Ward's house.

Different sources list 3 different Joseph Ballard's during the1770-1790 time frame in Onslow Co NC. Very little of the informationconflicts. In fact, most of the information seems to mesh very well. The census never showsmore than one Joseph. Therefore I havecombined the children into one family headed by this Joseph Ballardsince he seems to be the one with the ancestors. He, son of John Ballard and Mary Continent, was born on 17 April 1735 in Isle of Wight Co, VAG+.
