Sir John Aylesbury, of Milton Keyes, had reference number 187-9. He, son of Sir Thomas de Aylesbury, of Milton Keyes, and Joan Basset, was born on 6 May 1334 in Weldon, Northamptonshire, EnglandG+.1,2
In 1349. at the death of his grandfather, Sir Phillip Aylesbury, John came into a substantial inheritance, which included the manors of Milton Keynes, Bradwell and Broughton in Buckinghamshire, Rousham in Oxfordshire, and Aldbury and Tiscot in Tring in Hertfordshire most of which Sir Phillip had himself amassed.1

Sir John Aylesbury, of Milton Keyes, married Isabel Isabel, daughter of Eubolo le Strange, of Knoykn,, before March 1359.3,1,2

. he held the office of sheriff for no fewer than 11 annual terms beginning with 6 consecutive years beginning in 1365 and 2 consecutive years in 1381. This was in serious breach of the statues of Edward II and Richard II who forbade the reappointment of sheriffs in consecutive years.1

Sir John Aylesbury, of Milton Keyes, married Alice before 1369.2

Sir Richard Basset, 1st Lord Basset of Weldon, married Joan de Huntingfield, daughter of Sir Roger de Huntingfield, of Huntingfield and Frampton, and Joice d'Engaine, before 1300. Her maritagium evidently included the manor of Wilstone in Tring, Hertfordshire.1

. Richard was constantly involved in the Scottish Wars. He was summoned to Parliament by writs directed Ricardo Basset de Weledon, but none of his descendants were summoned.1
On 24 June 1314. he was taken prisoner at the Battle of Bannockburn.1
