On 11 March 1950. John Maund was convicted of first degree murder of W.A. Whigham in Coffee Co AL and sentenced to death by electricution. On appeal, the sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. His sentence began on 12-14-1950 at Kilby Prison.³

John Calvin Maund died on 11 March 1976 at 69 years of age.⁴ He was buried in Cool Springs Cemetery, Enterprise, Coffee Co, AlabamaG. Find A Grave Memorial # is. 23744823.⁴
