David Mitchell Young. David Mitchell Young was born in GA, possibly Laurens Co, on 14 Jan1809. He was probably the oldest son of Orrin/Oren/Wren Young and possibly Martha Wallace of that county. A David Young lived inLaurens Co in 1840. The first positive location of David is in 1850 in Stewart Co, GA. He was living there with his first wife, Mary ??and their two daughters. On 14 Apr 1857, David, 48y, married SusanAnna Bush, 17y, daughter of John Bush and Frances Johnson. It isthought that John was the son of Prescott Bush and Susannah Hinds.(52) By 1860, David and Susan had moved to Dale Co AL and had a smallson. David's first wife had not died at this time, because althoughvDavid's will dated 17 Nov 1884 did not refer to her, there were papers filed in her behalf stating that she had no claim on the estate. It seems that she was mentally ill-but to what degree is not known. David and Mary's two daughters were mentioned in the will, but only to exclude them from sharing in the estate.
