Benjamin Averett was also known as Benjamin Averitt.1
[m] [wm]. He, was born about 1794. possibly Hancock or Warren Co GA.

Wilkinson Co GA was formed in May 11 1803 from Creek indian lands ceded in 1802 and divided into five districts. Surveyors laid out the districts in land lots of 202 1/2 acres each. Wilkinson Co was included in the land lottery of 1805. Creek Indian lands were added in 1806 and land from Baldwin in 1807. In 1807, Wilkinson lost land to Laurens, Telfair, and Baldwin. Many historical records were destroyed in court house fires of 1828 and 1924.


Laurens Co GA was formed on Dec 10, 1807 from Wilkinson Co.

On 8 March 1819 in Capt Hardys District, Laurens Co, GeorgiaG, Benjamin Averett. named eligible for the 1820 land lottery.
. An itemized inventory of the estate of Benjamin Averett was prepared byJames Barlow, Daniel Phillips, and Nathan Harrod and presented to JP Isaac Benton on 20 August 1819 in Laurens Co, GAG.
