Biography
William Bullock was of Warwick Co VA. He. On 25 Jan 1624, he was living at Mulberry Island in Warwick Co, havingcome to VA in the 'Jonathan'. On Oct 10 1624, he was a witness. Asthe eldest son, William succeded largely to the property and interestsof his father, including of course, his lands, his mills, hismercantile business and trade, and his shipping interest, includingthe ownership, perhaps of one or more vessels plying between Virginiaand England. He was a man of the World and necessarily made numeroustrips back and forth between the Colony and England. He was theauthor of a very rare pamphlet on Virginia, issued in 1649, which hetitled 'Virginia Impartially Examined, etc'. A will of a WilliamBullock of Essex, Gent, was made when he was about to leave London forVirginia. Date of writing is not given but the will was proven on 16May 1650 in which is mentionte his wife Elizabeth, a son Robert and adaughter named Frances. REFERENCE: (98) Colonial Granville and ItsPeople.

Hugh Bullock

Biography
Hugh Bullock was of York Co VA. He. On 29 Mar 1628, he was the owner of the ship, 'Endeavor'. He was inEngland in the spring of 1632, but was back in Virginia and present atthe meeting of the Council on 8 Feb 1638. It appears that HughBullock was a planter, merchant, Councilor and a man of considerableimportance. He was a ship owner as were many other merchants andplanters in that day and time. His home was apparently down towardsBack/Rack River in what is and was then called Pocoson, or New Pocosonin York County, in which part of the county where Gov John West ownedconsiderable areas of land, and who long afterwards perhaps boughtthis same 2550 acres from the heirs of Henry White, together with themill and other belongings. Capt Hugh Bullock was a Burgess and Memberof the Assembly for the Colony of Virginia from York Co VA in Dec1631. On 12 Mar 1634, he patent 2550 acres of land on the PocosonRiver (Back Creek or Back River) in York County. About 1637, Hugh andhis wife Mary deed to 'William Bullock, of London, gentleman', hiscorn mill, saw mill and plantation in Virginia'. The nference beingthat he had returned to London at that time and that William Bullockwas probably his eldest son. REFERENCE: (98) Colonial Granville andIts People.
Hugh Bullock died in 1681.
