John Rackley was apparently the father of Mary, Nathan Anthony, and Wm Joel of Burke CoGA. He. John pushed southward from Surry/Sessex Co VA into a part of Bertie CoNC later known as Northhampton Co and today lying in the northeasterncorner of Warren Co NC. John's mark was a vertical or a horizontalline with three short lines at right angles to it, the same mark thathad been used by his grandfather, John Rackley II. John was granted640 acres on 17 Mar 1740 and was called as a juror for Bertie andEdgecombe counties in the same year. Thedate of the grant was only 11years after NC came under direct royal rule as a separate province in1729. On 17 Feb 1741, John sold his Mill Swamp Plantation inNorthampton Co, and in 1743 he patented 200 acres on Mill Swamp.Between 1743 and 1747 Anthony Rackley and son John bought and soldseveral tracts of land in Northampton Co. All of their holdings seemto have been disposed of by 1748.

Richard Bullock, Sr., was of New Kent Co VA. He. Richard Bllock of New Kent Co VA is known on the records of St Peter'sParish as Richard Bullock, Sr. After his death in 1702, his sonRichard Bullock Jr became Richard Bullock Sr. Richard Sr and RichardJr were processioners in St Peter's Parish on 4 May 1689. Robert Bullock was of Warwick Co VA. He. On 13 Mar 1671, Robert Bullock brought suit against Col PeterJennings, guardian of John Matthews, the orphan of Col. Matthews, overthe title to 5000 acres of land in Warwick Co, same being lands leftby his father, as a member of the Council and General Court ofVirginia. On 8 Apr 1671, this land was award Robert Bullock by theCourt. Robert Bullock left no will. Robert was the ancestor of theGranville Co VA Bullocks. He was evidently not a man with a large andnumerous family, otherwise somewhere on the records, the names of hissons would have appeared in connection with the business of settlingup his estate, etc. REFERENCE: (98) Colonial Granville and Its People.
