But if my Son William Should not arrive to the said Age, then it is my Desire that my Well beloved Brother Noah Maund Should have the said negro Dav_(torn)_...; ...unto my well beloved Son William all my part that now belongs to me and the part thereafter coming to me of a water mill...after the decease of his Mother...2,3

William Maund married Mary Howell, daughter of Joseph Howell, Sr, and Margaret 'Mary' Starling, about 1739.

On 13 May 1741 in Norfolk Co, VAG+. William Maund Sr left his grandson William (son of William Jr) the plantation where he lives when he comes of age.2

Edgecombe Co NC was formed in 1741 from part of Bertie Co. The country was named for Richard Edgcumbe, 1st Baron Edgcumbe (1680-1758), a Lord High Treasurer and Paymaster-General for Ireland. Tarboro, the eventual county seat, was not chartered until 1760.

In the year 1831, D. C. Maund dreamed that three men appeared to himwith books, and informed him that they would tell him how long hemight expect to live. After comparing their books and talking to eachother, one of them informed him that at the end of eighteen years hewould leave this world and be no more upon Earth. (He died 3 Jun 1850)
