Biography

Robert Asbury Hudson was also known as R A Hudson.4 He. Robert was one of the first councilmen in Jakin GA. On land north ofthe John Minter homeplace, he built a large home, a turpentine still,a sawmill, five section houses, a large barn and a water tower. Healso installed a delco plant that furnished electricity to run hismotors and lights in his home. A private telephone line was run fromhis home to Jakin (about one and a half miles). The turpentine stilland sawmill were located on the left side of the old Jakin-Blakelyroad and the home was on the right side.
