According to a family story, sometime between 1820 and 1830 Williamleft with the children and went to Elbert Co GA. Lovey was unhappywith this move and walked to GA and got her children. She took thechildren while William was building a mill not far from the home. Onthe way back to Union, her son Alfred became ill. He died and wasburied along side the road near Greenville, SC. William was neverheard from again. It is about 140 miles from Union Co SC to Elbert CoGA. So there is some doubt about her walking the distance. He, son of John Richard Almond and Elizabeth Unknown, was born about 1776 in Rockingham Co, VAG. William Allman, son of John Richard Almond and Elizabeth Unknown, was born about 1776 in Cabarrus Co, NCG.
