James Thomas Boyette was also known as J T Boyette Boyette. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Bapt Ch Cem, Slocomb, Geneva Co, ALG.
James Thomas Boyette was civil service, owner of Boyette Casey Hardware in Panama City, FL. He. On 16 Jun 1906, James Thomas 'J. T.' Boyette was born on the familyfarm which was located about 2 miles from Enterprise on the Opp Road.Abt 1919, when J. T. was about 12, the family moved to a farm out fromBaker, FL where he graduated from high school.
For the next couple of years, J. T. worked in a drug store in Milton,FL and later at a drug store in Chipley, FL. About 1928, he moved toSlocomb, AL and worked in Ted Dalton's drug store.
J. T. met Vesta Casey when she was home from Montevallo. They marriedon 24 Jul 1929 and Vesta dropped out of Montevallo at that time. J.T. obtained the marriage license in Dale Co AL.
About 1930, they moved to Ariton, AL where he worked in a drug storeowned by a Mr. Plumgren. When Mr. Plumgren died, J T bought the drugstore. Later J T and Vesta moved back to Slocomb where he againworked in Ted Dalton's drug store.

About 1950 J T and Vesta moved to Panama City FL where J T worked atTyndall AFB. On 19 Dec 1958, J T retired from Civil Service andbought out Millville Hardware in Panama City. Elias Holman Locke. _ Type: GENERAL NOTES.1,2,3 He. Elias Holman Locke was born 15 Feb 1844 at Orion in Pike Co AL. Heis listed as a co purchaser with Richard D Locke of land 9 27 in PikeCo AL on 19 Dec 1849.
He entered the CSA as a Private. He was made Corporal in Co A of the60th AL Inf Reg on 7 Apr 1862. This Reg was formerly part ofHilliard's Legion.
He was wounded at Petersburg VA in 1865 and was present at AppomatoxCourthouse when General Lee surrendered to General Grant. He wasparoled at Appomatox on 10 Apr 1865. [040][045]
About 1867, he married Miss Alfred Pastorah ??. They had fourchildren.
Dr. Locke's dental license was granted in 1868. This license washandwritten on ruled paper. It was likely the first dental licenseissued in Alabama. It is the oldest dental license on record. Thislicense, his diploma and picture are on record in the Medical andDental Library at the Medical Center in Birmingham. [062]
During the 1880 Pike Co AL census, Elias H Locke was a dentist livingin Troy. His wife was Alfred P. and his children were Emisa 12,Bettie 4, and Richard 2.
The Wood & Locke Furniture Store was established in Sep 1880 as apartnership between John Henry Wood and Dr. Elias H. Locke. Dr. Lockewas a prominent dentist and a successful business man. Dr. Lockefound that the furniture store was requiring too much of his time andhe sold his share of the business to his partner in Aug 1881. Theestablishment was then known as J. H. Wood's Furniture Store. [062]
