They moved to Clinch Co in 1865 where he bought 122 1//2 acres ofland, lot 336, 12th district of Clinch from William Faircloth, datedJan 4 1866 DB KK, p152, Clinch) and lived there until his death in1868. [248]
In 1868 he was killed by lightning as he was sitting under a persimmontree in the front yard of his home. He was the first person to beburied in the present cemetery at Antioch Methodist Church. Thechurch had just been organized. Mrs Everett and Erie Edwards were theadministrators of the William Everett estate. [248]
